Indian Navy Sailor (MR) April 2022 Batch – Apply Online for 300 Posts

Indian Navy has published a notification for the recruitment of Navy Sailor for Matric Recruit (MR) April 2022 Batch vacancies. Online applications are invited from the unmarried male candidates for enrollment as sailor for Matric Recruit (MR) for approx. 300 vacancies in the Apr 22 batch. The vacancies will be earmarked in a state-wise manner. For the total of 300 vacancies, approx 1500 candidates will be called for written examination and physical fitness test (PFT). The cut off marks for appearing in written examination may vary from state to state.

Job Specifications:

• Chef - They would be required to prepare food as per menu (both vegetarian & non-vegetarian including handling of meat products) and accounting of ration. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties as per service requirement.
• Steward - The would be required to serve food in the officers' messes, as waiters, housekeeping, accounting of funds, wine and stores, preparation of menu etc. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties as per service requirement.
• Hygienist - They will be required to clean washroom, shower spaces & other areas. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties as per service requirement.

Pay & Allowances - During the initial training period, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be admissible. On  successful completion of initial training, they will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (Rs. 21,700 - Rs. 69,100). In addition, they will be paid MSP @ Rs. 5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable).

Eligibility

• Age Limit ​
  • Candidates should be born between 01 Apr 2002 to 31 Mar 2005 (Both dates inclusive).
• Medical Standards​
  • Height: 157 Cms
  • Minimum Chest Expansion: 5 Cms
• Educational Qualification​s
  • Candidates must have passed Matriculation Examination from the Boards of School Education recognised by Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.

Selection Criteria-

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, an exception is being made in the public interest wherein approximately 1500 candidates will be called-up for written examination and Physical Fitness Test (PFT). The shortlisting of the candidates for written examination and PFT will be undertaken on the basis of percentage of qualifying examination (10th examination). The cut off marks may vary from state to state as vacancies have been allocated in a state-wise manner.

Written Test

• The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) & objective type.
• The question paper will comprise of two sections i.e. Science & Mathematics and General Knowledge.
• Total number of questions will be 50 where each question carries 1 mark and there will be negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong attempt.
• Duration of examination will be 30 minutes.
• All candidates appearing for written examination would be subjected to PFT on the same day.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

• Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test (PFT) is mandatory for selection.
• PFT will consist of 1.6 KM run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squats (uthak baithak) and 10 Push-Ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.

Merit lists for MR will be prepared based on performance in written examination subject to qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT). Approximately 400 candidates will be issued call up letter for Enrolment Medical Examination at INS Chilka on the basis of state wise merit.

Note: - The cut off marks for issue of call up letter for Enrolment Medical Examination at INS Chilka may vary state to state.

For this entry, the candidates can apply ONLINE ONLY on the official website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in from 29 Oct 21 to 02 Nov 21. The procedure is as follows-

• Before filling online application, keep matric certificate ready for reference.
• Register yourself on www.joinindianarmy.gov.in with your e-mail ID, if not registered already. The Applicants must ensure that while filling their Application form, they are providing their valid and active e-mail IDs and mobile numbers, which should not be changed till selection procedure is over.
• Log-in with the registered E-mail ID and Click on "Current Opportunities"
• Click on "Apply" button.
• Fill up the form completely. Before clicking the "Submit" button make sure all the details are correct, all required documents are scanned in original & uploaded.
• Online applications will be further scrutinised for eligibility and may be rejected at any stage, if found ineligible in any respect.
• Photographs - Good quality photograph with blue background to be uploaded.
