- Deepor Beel or Dipor Bil is a permanent freshwater lake, which is the erstwhile water channel of River Brahmaputra
- In Assamese, Beel means a huge aquatic body.
- This lake was declared a Ramsar Wetland Site in November 2002
- Deepor Beel also has been declared as an Important Bird Area (IBA) with high priority for conservation by the BirdLife International.
