Iceland Parliament
- Althing, Icelandic Alþingi also spelled Althingi, is unicameral legislature of Iceland.
- Founded at Thingvellir in southwestern Iceland c. 930, the Althing is one of the oldest national parliaments in the world.
More Women participation in Other Countries
According to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, there are five other countries which have Parliaments where women hold at least half the seats: Rwanda (61%), Cuba (53%), Nicaragua (51%) and Mexico and the United Arab Emirates (50%).
