India all out for 416 runs in first innings against England on second day of 5th Test in Birmingham

In Cricket, India were all out for 416 runs in their first innings against England on the second day of the rescheduled 5th Test match at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham. The visitors had resumed their first innings play from the overnight score of 338 runs for seven wickets. Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja both scored centuries. Pant scored 146 runs off 111 balls while Jadeja scored 104 off 194 balls.  For England, James Anderson was the most successful bowler claiming five wickets. Earlier, the hosts won the toss and elected to field first.

England were 60 for 3 in their first innings when rain stopped the play. 

England versus India one-off Test is the 5th Test from last year’s tour, which was postponed due to COVID-19. India lead the series 2-1. Last year, during England’s tour in August-September, India was scheduled to play five Tests against England.

However, only four Tests could take place and the 5th Test was postponed. The 1st Test ended in a draw. India defeated England in the 2nd and fourth tests while England won the third Test.
