Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayat Raj minister KS Eshwarappa resigns

Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayat Raj minister KS Eshwarappa submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai in Bengaluru yesterday. Eshwarappa had announced his resignation on Thursday in Shivamogga after an FIR was filed against him for allegedly abetting the suicide of contractor Santosh Patil. The contractor who allegedly commited suicide had accused the minister of corruption in a whatsapp message.

Speaking to media persons after submitting the resignation letter, Eshwarappa said, he has resigned to prevent embarrassment to the party and its workers. He requested the Chief Minister to expose the persons responsible for defaming him through what he called a political conspiracy. Eshwarappa said he has complete faith that he will come clean after an investigation in the case.
