Odisha government is gearing up for the covid-19 vaccination of the elderly and persons with comorbidities from March 1, in accordance with the guidelines of the Centre.
In a letter to the district collectors and municipal commissioners, it has asked to complete all preparations for the drive by the end of this month. AIR correspondent reports that all collectors and municipal commissioners have been asked to prepare health facilities from the tertiary level down to the health and wellness centers and sub centers, for the upcoming phase of the nation wide vaccination. They have been directed to plan 5 days sessions in a week excluding Sunday for the inoculation drive.
The government wants to put in place all preparatory arrangements like identification of session sites along with alternate vaccinators and verifiers, formation of 6 to 7 mobile vaccination teams for each block and urban units and over and above all, mapping such facilities to the nearest cold chain points by the 28th February, for the smooth conduct of the vaccination drive.
