  • Dr K.L.Rao Sagar Pulichintala Project is a balancing reservoir constructed across river Krishna near Pulichinta Village in Guntur District 
  • Kanuru Lakshmana Rao (15 July 1902 – 18 May 1986) was an Indian engineer and a Padma Bhushan awardee  who served as the Union Minister of Irrigation & Power and Member of Parliament for Vijayawada from 1962 to 1977.

About Krishna River

  • The Krishna River is the fourth-biggest river in terms of water inflows and river basin area in India, after the Ganga, Godavari and Brahmaputra. 
  • It flows through Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh
  • The two largest tributaries are the Bhima (north/left bank) and the Tungabhadra (south/right bank).
